Welcome to Sleepy Hollow Maker! We are a small family side-hustle and hobby shop nestled right here on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

Our "Main Maker" is a retired Engineer with a lifelong passion for blending art, design, and precision technology. We work with many different materials—including premium hardwoods, acrylic, slate, and leather—to create high-quality, functional pieces for your home.

From "Imposter Syndrome" to the Market Floor

To be completely honest, it took a long time to build up the courage to sell my work. Like many crafters, I struggled with imposter syndrome and worried that the things I made for myself wouldn't be good enough for anyone else.

With a lot of encouragement from my family, I finally took the leap and shared a few early designs with coworkers and friends. Their honest feedback blew me away. In 2024, I agreed to attend my very first local craft fair with a small lineup of charcuterie boards, serving trays, wine caddies, and key fobs.

To my complete surprise, it went beautifully! Connecting with neighbors, visitors, and fellow makers caught me completely hook, line, and sinker. By 2025, we had presented our goods at five regional markets, learning exactly what items people loved most. The number one question we kept hearing was: "Do you have a website?"

Well, thanks to that fantastic local support, we finally do!
